Chernisky Ghost Town Trail-a-thon

The Chernisky Ghost Town Trail-a-thon is a multi-event trail gathering centered on Duman Lake County Park and the Ghost Town Trail system. The event includes running, an adaptive running option, a novelty 0.0K, and a group bicycle ride that follows trail sections including the C & I Extension and connections to Duman Lake County Park.

Course highlights include a full marathon that travels from Ebensburg to Duman Lake County Park via a 2 mile extension of the C & I Trail through Revloc and sections of the Ghost Town Trail and Rexis Branch/C & I Extension. A 15 mile race follows the same route but begins at a later point in Nanty Glo. The park serves as the start and finish for the 5 kilometer running events and the adaptive 5 kilometer option, which use a recently constructed trail connection to the Ghost Town Trail system. The 5 kilometer courses are primarily crushed gravel with some pavement at the beginning and end and include a couple of minor hill climbs.

The adaptive 5 kilometer is open to all non motorized adaptive equipment and has specific guide provisions: guides are responsible for themselves, must remain with their participant, may not cycle or use other transport, must not push or pull, and must display GUIDE on their outermost layer. A group bicycle ride follows trail sections to Twin Rocks trailhead and includes a short single track portion near the park with roots and rocks.
