Jim Mayer Trail Family Fun Run
The Jim Mayer Trail Family Fun Run takes place on September 5, 2026 in Johnstown, PA and is organized by the Cambria County Trails Series. This is the 11th annual running of the event and it offers both run and walk options with awards in each division.

The 5K course follows the original section of the Jim Mayer Trail from the Riverside Trailhead on Michigan Avenue out toward Bridge Street and back. The out-and-back route runs alongside the Stonycreek River and passes the Trail Art Murals near the old trolley bridge in Moxham, with the turn around shortly after the trolley bridge. A water and Gatorade station is located at the turn around point by Bridge Street, and water, Gatorade, and first aid supplies are available at the finish. Walkers are asked to stay to the right on the trail. The event is scheduled to occur rain or shine.
Registration details include tiered fees with discounted rates for Friends of the Trails members and free youth registrations for ages 17 and under. Registration closes on August 22, 2026, and same day registration is available for a higher fee with shirts not guaranteed. Parking is available a few blocks from the trailhead at the Riverside Volunteer Fire Department. Medals are awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers in both the run and walk divisions, including youth categories.
