Run For The Trail 7K Run and 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk

The event will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at the Ghost Town Trail access in Dilltown, Pennsylvania. It benefits Indiana County Parks and Trails and offers two timed running events on a mix of country roads and the rails-to-trails Ghost Town Trail.

Distances:

  • 7K Run
  • 2 Miles Fun Run/Walk

The 7K is a timed race that begins on quiet country roads with two gently rolling hills and finishes on the Ghost Town Trail. Chip timing for the 7K is provided by Gingerbread Timing and live results will be uploaded to RunSignUp during the race. Awards for the 7K include local artisan-made wooden train engines for top overall finishers and age group awards in five-year increments up to age 70 plus; top three in each age group receive gold, silver, and bronze railroad spikes.

The 2 mile event is timed but has no separate awards; finishers are eligible for random gift card drawings donated by local vendors. The 2 mile course has no road crossings. Timing for the 2 mile event is by A.T.S. with results posted online within 24 hours.

Soft style t-shirts are provided by InFirst Bank and are guaranteed for registrations by July 28, 2026. Discounted family registration is available for three or more household members. Ice cream treats are provided after the race by Allied Milk Producers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
