Laurel Highlands Ultra - Fall Classic

The Laurel Highlands Ultra - Fall Classic is a point-to-point ultramarathon held on September 26, 2026, in Somerset, Pennsylvania. The course uses the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail, beginning near Mile Marker 46 at the Route 30 trailhead and finishing at Mile 0 in Ohiopyle, ending in town at Falls City Pub. The event includes a full distance intended to reach approximately 50 miles by adding a few extra miles beyond the 46 miles on the LHHT.

Race terrain on the LHHT includes about 46 miles of trail with reported elevation totals of over 7,500 feet ascent and about 8,500 feet descent. The field will be supported by 6 to 7 aid stations located at trailhead parking lots; all aid stations are described as fully stocked and staffed and require runners to check in for timing at each aid station. Typical on-course nutrition includes fruit, sandwiches, starches, electrolyte hydration, and options for vegan and gluten-free diets.

A 5 person relay is offered with legs between 4 and 14 miles. Relay exchange points are to be determined; relay members are expected to arrange their own transportation to exchanges. Pacers may join individual runners only at Mile 39 and must accompany the runner to the finish. Parking is arranged with a start line at the Rt 30 trailhead and finish parking at Ferncliff Trailhead in Ohiopyle, and a pre-race shuttle is available from the finish lot to the start.
