Laurel Highlands Ultra - Fall Classic
The event is scheduled for September 26, 2026 in Somerset, PA and is organized by Redpoint Productions. It is a point-to-point race on the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail that benefits the Pennsylvania Parks & Forest Foundation.

The course begins near Mile Marker 46 at the Rt 30 trailhead and follows the LHHT south to its terminus at Mile 0 in Ohiopyle. The route includes 46 miles on the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail with over 7,500 feet of ascent and about 8,500 feet of descent; a few extra miles are added to reach approximately 50 miles. There will be 6 to 7 aid stations located at trailhead parking lots. All aid stations will be fully stocked and staffed. Racers must run completely to the aid stations for checkins and timing. Typical supplies include Skratch electrolyte hydration, fruit, pb&j, potatoes, pretzels, chips, candy, and sometimes broth, bacon, quesadillas, and pierogi. Vegan and gluten free options are available.
The event offers a five person relay with legs between 4 and 14 miles. Relay exchange points are to be determined; relay members should arrange their own transport to exchange points. Pacers are not permitted for relay teams. Relay team members may also register and run the full 50 Mile but must be registered for both and run the first relay leg.
Crew and spectator access is allowed at Miles 14, 27, 31, and 39. There is no access at Miles 7, 20, or 44. Pacers may join runners only at Mile 39 and must be able to reach the finish at Mile 50.
Start line parking is at the Rt 30 Trailhead. Finish line parking is at Ferncliff Trailhead in Ohiopyle. A pre-race shuttle is available from the finish lot to the start; the shuttle is not available after the race. Shuttle details and exchange points are to be confirmed.
Every finisher receives a finisher award. Top awards are given for Non-Binary, Female, and Male 1st through 3rd places and for 1st place Mixed, Female, and Male relays.
