Jacob Hershberger 8th Annual Memorial Run
This event on Sunday, August 9, 2026 takes place at 300 Camp Living Water Road in Schellsburg, Pennsylvania. It offers three 5K options: a timed run, a challenge walk, and an easy walk. Each event carries a registration fee of $25 and race shirts are included for pre-registered participants; shirts are only guaranteed for registrations completed by July 29.
The event raises funds to support the Jacob Hershberger Memorial Scholarships, awarded each year to two Bedford High School students, and to assist community members who face financial need after the death of a young person. Results are professionally timed and made available after the event.
Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers in each age group and to the top three male and top three female walkers overall on both courses. The age groups are: 12 and under; 13-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60 and over. The top overall male and female finishers receive a cash prize of $100 each.
Course 1 follows nature trails with rolling hills on grass and gravel and is measured to approximate 5K. Course 2 is a flat route around the property intended for strollers, young children, and older participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
