Ironstone 100K
Ironstone 100K is a point-to-point ultramarathon of 100K across trails in the Ridge and Valley region of Pennsylvania. The course begins at Canoe Creek State Park in Blair County and finishes at Greenwood Furnace State Park in Huntingdon County, using stretches of the Standing Stone, Mid State, and Lower Trails.
The route includes varied terrain: a fast, flat rail-trail section along the Frankstown Branch of the Juniata River on the Lower Trail; ridge running atop Tussey Mountain on the Mid State Trail; old-growth pines at Alan Seeger Natural Area; a mountain pass at Little Juniata Natural Area; and craggy ledges at Indian Wells. The course features technical singletrack, remote sections, significant climbing, and night running. Aid stations are limited and pacers are not permitted. Participants must complete the course within 23 hours.
Registration for the event opens on 10/16/2026 and closes on 07/02/2027. The registration fee is $175.00.
Entry requires prior trail experience: each participant must have completed at least one advertised 50K trail race within the official cut-off time between January 1, 2025 and their registration date. Timed events, FKTs, obstacle races, and most multisport events do not qualify. The qualifying 50K must be completed before registration and race management enforces this requirement.
Participants are asked to complete at least eight hours of volunteer work or make a donation supporting the Mid State Trail or Standing Stone Trail. One week before race day, organizers will collect volunteer hours or donation information via a survey sent to participants and posted online.
