Ironstone 100K - A Savage Ultramarathon
Ironstone 100K is a 100-kilometer (62-mile) point to point trail ultramarathon held July 11–12, 2026. The course runs across the Ridge and Valley region of southern Pennsylvania, moving from the Juniata River watershed into the ragged Rothrock State Forest and passing through Blair, Huntingdon, and Centre counties. The event emphasizes trail terrain and extended backcountry running.
The race is organized by the Eastern States Trail-Endurance Alliance, a local all volunteer group that highlights stewardship of trails and nearby communities. Event resources include a race timeline, course map and charts, course narratives, aid station and crew information, and formal race rules. A community presence on Strava is used for training runs and course previews; participation in those Strava activities does not require race registration.
Event details note gear and finisher items: race shirts and buckles are part of the event, and a finisher flannel is reserved for runners who arrive at the finish line in under 23 hours. For 2026 the organizers added a manned water only aid station at Jackson Trail labeled AS7 to reduce an overnight resupply gap; one overnight stretch from Indian Steps to Little Flat Tower can last about 5 to 6 hours. Organizers also issued a travel advisory citing a nearby multi day event expected to draw over 250,000 visitors and likely tighten local lodging availability.
