Midsummer Running in East Sussex
The Robertsbridge Midsummer event is organized by the Robertsbridge Bonfire Society and takes place at the Robertsbridge Recreation Ground. The course features an undulating, multi-terrain route through the local scenery of East Sussex. Participants can choose from several distance options:
- 10 km
- 5 km
- Junior Run
The race is open to participants of various experience levels, with the 5 km open to those aged 11 and over, and the 10 km available for runners aged 15 and over. The Junior Run is a non-chip-timed event. The route is supported by volunteer marshals located at various points to guide runners.
Participants receive a bespoke medal upon completion, and trophies or prizes are awarded to the leading runners in the competitive categories. The event site includes a BBQ and a bar for post-race refreshments.
Free parking is available at the recreation ground, with additional parking options located throughout the village. For those traveling by rail, the Robertsbridge railway station is approximately a 10-minute walk from the cricket club.
