PHOENIX - West Sussex - Festival of Running

The Festival of Running is a multi-format endurance event held at Blackland Farm in West Sussex. The event offers a variety of solo and team challenges set against a scenic backdrop, featuring a 1 mile lap course. The route is entirely off-road, consisting of a mix of grass and compact trails. Participants will experience an undulating profile that includes a tree-lined grass alley with expansive views and a woodland section.

The available solo distances and formats include:

  • 24-Hour Solo: An endurance test where individuals run as many laps as possible over a full day.
  • 12-Hour Solo: A solo challenge focused on completing laps within a twelve-hour period.
  • P24 Challenge: A specific pacing test where runners complete one 1-mile lap every hour for 24 consecutive hours.
  • P12 Challenge: A twelve-hour version of the pacing challenge, requiring one lap per hour.

The event is designed with a festival atmosphere, centered around a main camping field where the laps start and finish. Entry fees include a pitch for participants to bring their own tent, allowing runners to rest and refuel between laps. There is also an option to upgrade to a pre-pitched bell tent that accommodates up to four people.

All participants receive a bespoke finisher medal. Registration is open to runners of all abilities, though distance restrictions apply to those aged 20 or under in accordance with UK Athletics rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
