Event Information

The River's Edge Endurance Challenge takes place in Brunswick, Maryland. The event is the 8th annual edition and offers three different race distances.

Course Details

The event starts at the lower practice fields between Brunswick High School and Brunswick Middle School. Each race includes about 1 mile on school property. The rest of the course is run on the River's Edge Trail system. Both the 5K loop and the 5 mile loop used for the endurance events are described as well-marked.

Event Features

This is a non-profit event sponsored by the Brunswick High School Athletic Boosters Club. All money raised from registration fees supports the Brunswick High School Track and Field program for equipment purchases.

Pre-registered participants can receive a T-shirt and a unique REEC Finisher medal. Gift cards are awarded via random drawings for each race. A note on registration indicates that a T-shirt is not guaranteed for registrations after September 3, 2026, and medals are not guaranteed for registrations after August 15, 2026 due to limited supplies.

Registration

Trail runs nearby

Trail marathon and 50K on March 7, 2026 at Seneca Creek State Park near Gaithersburg, MD. Runners may stop at the marathon finish or continue to complete the 50K, and entries include a tech shirt and finisher medal.

A free International Women’s Day endurance day at Beaverdam Reservoir Park featuring a 7.5-mile loop and varied trail surfaces. The event centers women, offers course support through sunset, and focuses on movement and mutual support.
