Richmond Park Trail Run

The Richmond Park Half Marathon and Marathon take place entirely within the boundaries of Richmond Park. The event base and race headquarters are located at Sheen Gate, which serves as both the starting and finishing point for participants.

The trail route begins by heading toward Richmond Gate before returning to Sheen Gate. From there, the path crosses through the center of the park toward the White House, offering views of the local lakes and wildlife. Runners then head to Robin Hood Gate to join the Tamsin trail path, which follows the inner walls of the Royal Park.

The course includes a climb up Broomfield Hill, where a drinks station is positioned, before continuing toward Kingston Gate. The route passes through wooded areas toward Ham Gate, the site of an additional drinks and feed station. After reaching Petersham Gate, participants return to Ham Gate and follow the main track alongside Queens Road. A flat and fast section follows a private road through the park's center, eventually leading back to the White House and Sheen Gate.

Available distances include:

  • 13.1 miles (Half Marathon)
  • 26.2 miles (Marathon)

Participants for the half marathon must be at least 17 years old, while the marathon distance is open to those 18 years and older. The event utilizes both established trail paths and private roads within the park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
