Rathfinny Run

Alfriston, United Kingdom • 10 May 2026

The event

The Rathfinny Run takes place on 10 May 2026 at The Tasting Room, Rathfinny Wine Estate, Alfriston, Polegate, East Sussex. The event offers two distances:

  • 10.7 km
  • 21.4 km (half marathon)

The 10.7 km is open to entrants aged 16 and over; the half marathon is open to entrants aged 18 and over. The event is promoted as carbon neutral and raises money for the WOLO Foundation, with 30 free places offered for fundraisers. Recycled slate medals are awarded to all finishers and organisers do not provide a race t-shirt.

Course, facilities and rules

The course is an undulating off-road loop within the Rathfinny estate. Each loop is approximately 10.7 km with about 220 metres of elevation per loop; half marathon runners complete two loops. Surfaces include grass trail, some hard track and wooded sections. Distance markers appear every 2 km. Cut-off times are 3 hours for the half marathon and 1 hour 40 minutes for the 10.7 km.

Aid stations provide water, bananas, fruit and vegan flapjack/malt loaf at the 5 km marker and at the start/finish. The event is cup-less, so participants should bring their own cup, bottle or hydration pack. Race HQ has toilets and a bag drop (used at the entrant’s risk). Free parking is available for cars with two or more runners; a shuttle bus will run from Berwick station. MedEx Plus provides first aid at the finish. The route is marshalled, the course is not closed to other visitors, dogs are prohibited, and in-ear or over-ear headphones are not permitted. Prizes and trophies are awarded to top finishers in each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
