Rathfinny Run

Alfriston, United Kingdom • 10 May 2026

Event details

The Rathfinny Run takes place at Rathfinny Wine Estate, The Tasting Room, Alfriston, Polegate BN26 5TU on 10 May 2026. Two distances are offered:

  • 10.7 km (single loop)
  • 21.4 km (double loop, two laps of the 10.7 km course)

The event is held on an undulating off-road trail within the estate. Each 10.7 km loop has approximately 220 metres of elevation and distance markers are placed every 2 km. The course surface is mainly grass trail with some hard track and wooded sections, with cambers, tree roots and a few tight switchbacks.

Course, facilities and logistics

Aid stations with water, fruit and vegan flapjack/malt loaf will be located at the 5 km marker and at the start/finish. Participants should bring their own cup or hydration vessel because the event is cup-less. Portable toilets are available near the car park and additional toilets are near The Tasting Room. A bag drop is available at the start but items are left at the runner’s own risk and must be clearly labelled.

Parking is provided near the Cellar Door and Tasting Room; parking is free for cars with two or more runners and a small charge applies for single-occupancy cars, with that charge donated to the event charity. A free shuttle bus from the station is organised for runners.

Safety, rules and sustainability

MedEx Plus Medical First Aid will be based at the finish and marshals and sweep marshals will staff the route. Runners must wear their race number on the front and complete medical information on the reverse. Running with dogs is prohibited. In-ear and over-ear headphones are not permitted; bone-conduction headphones are allowed. The event is promoted as carbon neutral, uses no single-use plastics, and provides recycled slate medals to all finishers. The race also offers 30 free places for fundraisers for the WOLO Foundation.
