LDWA South Downs Marathon

The LDWA South Downs Marathon is a challenging 28-mile event held in the South Downs National Park, starting at East Dean Village Hall near Eastbourne. Participants face over 4,000 feet of ascent, traversing stunning landscapes including the Seven Sisters cliffs, Cuckmere Haven, Firle Beacon, and picturesque downland villages such as Littlington, Firle, and Alfriston. A shorter 18-mile route with 3,000+ feet of ascent is also available, omitting some sections. The event welcomes walkers and runners aged 18 and over, with a 10-hour time limit.
