Ragnar Trail Arizona Individual

Ragnar Trail Arizona Individual takes place November 6-7, 2026 at McDowell Mountain Regional Park in Fort McDowell, AZ. The event offers individual race options that run on established Sonoran Desert trails near the McDowell Mountains.

The Single Loop uses the Red Loop through lower foothills and classic Sonoran Desert terrain. Runners can expect rolling hills dotted with saguaro cactus, desert trees along washes, wide open sky with little canopy, and mountain ridges on the horizon. Underfoot surfaces include hard-packed trail, sections of gravel and rock, steady rollers, a few stronger climbs, and occasional sandy washes. The Red Loop distance is 6.6 miles with roughly 471 feet of elevation gain.

The timed ultramarathon options let individuals run the same loops used by relay teams and repeat them within the event time window. The published course loop measures 15.2 miles with a total loop elevation gain around 1,002 feet; actual elevation and mileage depend on how many loops a runner completes.

Ragnar Village at the park provides a weekend base with camping, food trucks, a bonfire and s'mores, music, yoga, partner prizes, and other participant amenities. The park address is 16300 McDowell Mountain Park Dr, Fort McDowell, AZ 85264. Typical weather ranges from the mid 50s to the low 80s °F.
