The Beat the Sunset 50km ultramarathon takes place in Maidenhead on Saturday 30 May 2026. The race starts and finishes at the NMCC Sports Club / Summerleaze Park (SL6 8SP). Entry is open until 24 May 2026. The event is a single-lap ultra running event over a distance of 50 km with listed elevation of 235 m.

Course and race services

The course is a fully signed, multi terrain route that is reported as mostly off road (about 75% off road) and includes the Thames Path, Jubilee River and the Green Way. There are four checkpoints at approximately 10 km intervals. Checkpoints will stock cola, water and sweet and savoury snacks. A personal nutrition drop is available in the second half of the course and nutrition can be taken to the 3rd and 4th checkpoints.

Chip timing and free live tracking are provided. Other listed services include free downloadable race photos, massage pre and post event, on-site toilets, feed stations, prizes, a medal and mementoes for finishers, and medical backup. Mandatory kit includes a fully charged phone, foil blanket and a full 500 ml bottle or vessel for fluids. Recommended items include a waterproof jacket and a cup. Trail runs nearby

Run a scenic 50k through the Surrey Hills on a fully signed out and back trail with food stations and live timing. Friendly for newcomers to ultras yet rewarding for seasoned trail runners.
