Beat the Sunset 50km

The Beat the Sunset event is a multi terrain ultra marathon held in Maidenhead on May 22, 2027. The course is a single lap of 50 km with about 235 m of elevation, and is described as approximately 75% off road. The route follows sections of the Thames Path, the Jubilee River and the Green Way and is fully signed.

Four checkpoints are located at roughly 10 km intervals. Checkpoints provide cola, water and a mix of sweet and savoury snacks. Personal nutrition drops are available and can be delivered to the third and fourth checkpoints. The event uses chip timing and offers free live tracking. Race organisers provide medical backup, on course support and free downloadable race photos.

Mandatory kit includes a fully charged phone, a foil blanket and a full 500 ml bottle or vessel for fluids. Recommended items include a waterproof or showerproof jacket, a cup and a method of payment. Entries range from £68 to £70 with an early discount period noted, and entries close on May 19 unless capacity is reached earlier. The Phoenix Running - Slough will take place in Slough on Thursday 9 July 2026. You can run 5 miles.

A 7 hour timed event on a signed loop along the River Thames in Egham, with flexible self-directed distances from 3 km up to ultra and 50 km options. Finishers receive medals, goody bags and distance pins for longer distances.

Phoenix Fridays offers a flexible Friday run with a "rock up and go" start. Choose your distance on a flat, timed 5.3km loop along the Thames towpath. All finishers can pick from a selection of signature medals.

A trail ultramarathon from Lewknor to Avebury in Oxfordshire with 100 km and two 50 km stage options, following the Ridgeway through historic sites and offering pit stops, chip timing and basecamp facilities.
