Race in the Clouds - Alma Dirt Festival 2027

Race in the Clouds takes place June 25 to June 27, 2027 in Alma, Colorado, centered at the Alma Cemetery Meadow at about 10,600 feet elevation. The festival combines mountain bike racing, trail running, an off road duathlon, youth bike and run activities, and weekend camping.

Course terrain mixes single track, forest service roads, and graded county roads. Each loop includes two sustained climbs, fast descents, and high country terrain typical of the region.

Camping is available at the start area in an alpine meadow framed by high peaks. Camping opens the Thursday before the event and a discounted camping rate is offered to race entrants. Portable toilets will be provided on site. Organizers recommend that participants bring their own water and camping essentials.

Awards include overall top Men, Women, and Non Binary finishers per format, plus age group awards for U23, 24-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. Separate Middle School and High School divisions are listed with ages 11 to 14 and 15 to 18 respectively. The event is organized by the Alma Foundation and the Town of Alma.
