Silver Rush 50 Run
The Silver Rush 50 Run is a Leadville Race Series event held July 11, 2026. The primary event is an approximately 50-mile out-and-back course on the east side of Leadville that travels through the historic mining district and passes multiple gold and silver mine sites. The route begins at the Cloud City Ski Hut below Colorado Mountain College on Highway 24 and is run primarily on dirt roads that remain open to vehicle traffic. The course reports 7,503 feet of elevation gain and reaches a highest point of 12,024 feet. The total course cutoff is 14 hours. Course markings for the 50-mile distance use pink flags.
There are seven well-supplied aid stations located at specific mile markers on the outbound and inbound legs. Aid stations provide water, Neversecond energy gels and high-carbohydrate drink mixes, Skratch Labs hydration, bars and chews, and assorted food items. Drop bags for the 50-mile race are accepted in clear plastic only and are transported to the Stumptown aid station at the halfway turnaround.
Race logistics include limited crew access points (Start/Finish, Printer Boy, Stumptown), designated parking areas with shuttle service to the start area, and an awards program with multiple categories. The Silver Rush 50 Run serves as a qualifier for the Leadville Trail 100 Run; qualifier coins are distributed by performance and by lottery to finishers of the longest distance. Volunteer roles support event operations and safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
