Sheep Mountain Trail Runs
Sheep Mountain Trail Runs is the 12th annual trail and ultra event held in Fairplay, CO with start and finish at Town of Fairplay Beach. The event offers limited entry for 300 runners and a maximum time limit of 16 hours. The courses sit at an average elevation over 10,600 ft and combine technical singletrack, remote USFS forest service roads, and flowing dirt county roads. Aid stations are described as well stocked. Included for participants are a gender specific race shirt and a finisher's medal.

The 50 mile and 50k routes include mid-race drop down options: the 50 mile may drop to the 50k at the Brown's Pass aid station, and either the 50 mile or 50k may drop to the Heavy Half at the Horseshoe aid station on the first passage. Runners who drop down receive a finisher's award and a finish time in the distance they complete; there are no refunds or credits for distance changes. Pacers and crews are permitted for the 50 mile at select locations and specific pickup points are listed for pacers. Drop bags are allowed at named aid stations for the 50 mile and 50k but not for the Half Marathon. Camping options near the venue include tents, camper vans, roof top tents, and camp trailers.
