The RACE FOR THE GREENWAY 5K RUN / WALK takes place on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Hallock State Park, 6062 Sound Ave, Riverhead, NY 11901. The event includes in-person and virtual options and a separate kids fun run. Entry fees listed by the organizer are: Kids Fun Run $10 (plus card fees), 5K Run / Walk $35 (plus card fees) for online registration by October 25, and day-of registration $45. Virtual registration is listed at $35 and virtual participants are not eligible for awards.

Course and additional details
The course is an off-road trail through Hallock State Park. The route passes beaches, vineyards, hidden ponds, and forests on mostly flat terrain. No pets are allowed. Strollers are permitted but the course includes varied surfaces such as loose gravel and grass. Participant shirts are guaranteed for online registrations completed by October 16 at midnight.
Awards for in-person participants 21 and older include bottles of wine for the top three in each adult age bracket and a magnum for the top male and female overall. Additional awards are listed for top finishers under 21. Proceeds support creation of the Long Island Greenway and Harvest East End. Participating vineyards will offer tasting specials and discounts to participants ages 21 and older. Parking is provided at a nearby winery; directional signage will be used.
