Tesla Hertz Run - Rocky Point, NY
Tesla Hertz Run is a four day, four night trail event held in the pine barrens of Rocky Point, Long Island. The course is a single 10.48 mile loop that runners repeat to cover their chosen distance. The terrain is almost entirely trail, listed as 99.8 percent trail, and the route passes through a largely isolated section of the barrens.
Distances offered include:
- 150 Miler
- 100 Miler
- 100K
- 50 Mile
- 50K (Day)
- 50K (Night)
- Night 10 Mile
- 10 Mile
The loop has two stocked aid stations and allows crew access. On-course nutrition includes Skratch Labs products and common ultra fare such as PB&J, pretzels, chips, candy, and fruit; later in the event organizers list broth, pierogies, pizza, burgers, and hot dogs. Pacers must wear pacer bracelets, sign a waiver, and follow rules about when they may join; 150 milers must complete at least one lap before using a pacer. Crew access may be limited at one aid station depending on permits and event headcount.
The event maintains a single generous cut-off that applies to all distances across the weekend. Volunteer shifts are used for aid stations, course marshal duties, kitchen and parking, and volunteer hours can earn race credit for future Happily Running events. The organizer’s refund policy disallows cash refunds while permitting deferral credits under stated conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
