Race for the Bays 2026

Race for the Bays takes place in Panama City Beach at Conservation Park. This event coincides with the final day of National Estuaries Week and focuses on the appreciation of local natural resources. The park itself was developed to rehydrate wetlands using reclaimed water, supporting the protection of the St. Andrew Bay ecosystem. All proceeds from the event benefit the St. Andrew and St. Joseph Bays Estuary Program.

Participants can choose from several distances:

  • 10K
  • 5K
  • Fun Run/Walk

The course is a trail run that transitions between marsh and wooded areas. The terrain consists of groomed trails, boardwalks, and some paved sections. The 10K distance is completed by running the 5K route twice. While the trails are designed to be stroller friendly, participants are advised to watch for occasional surface roots.

The venue includes amenities such as public restrooms located at the trailhead building, parking, picnic tables, and pavilions. Dogs are allowed at the event provided they are on a leash, with a limit of two dogs per person. Volunteers are stationed along the routes to assist participants.
