Race for Life Royal Tunbridge Wells : Dunorlan Park

This event at Dunorlan Park in Royal Tunbridge Wells offers short-distance runs on a course that starts and finishes on grass and follows a mixture of terrain through parkland. The route includes some tarmac but is mainly grass and woodland, and it incorporates inclines and declines around the park. In wet weather the ground may become soft or muddy.

Available distances:

  • 3k
  • 5k

The start and finish areas are alongside the lake, between the cafe and the boat hire building. The site notes the start and finish are on uneven, slightly sloped grass. The course is not wheelchair accessible because of the nature of the terrain, and it is not suitable for pushchairs. Blue Badge parking is available at the Pembury Road car park; stewards will allow access on arrival. General event parking will not be available but a free Park and Ride service runs from the town hall. Bus routes serve the park and the closest train station is Tunbridge Wells, about a 25-minute walk.

Facilities listed as available include refreshments and toilets, and dogs are allowed. Bag drop and showers are not available. Entry fees range from £5.50 to £7.99 and there is a minimum fundraising target of £50. Participants receive a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training support resources, community access, and a Race for Life medal at the finish. The event is organised by Cancer Research UK.
