Sunderland Pretty Muddy 5k

Sunderland Pretty Muddy is a 5k obstacle event taking place at Herrington Country Park on Saturday 27 June 2026. The course follows park paths on tarmac and gravel with some grass sections and is slightly undulating. The event features mud obstacles where participants climb, crawl and slide around the route.

Waves start every 15 minutes to manage numbers on the course. Entrants must be at least 13 years old on the day. A minimum fundraising target of £50 applies. Entry prices listed are £22.49 for adults and £12.00 for children.

The start line is on the field adjacent to the children's play area; the what3words location ///along.ocean.fled is given for the meeting point. Free event parking is provided on site with designated Blue Badge spaces; there is no designated drop off area and no electric vehicle charging points. Buses run along Chester Road and the nearest train station is Sunderland, about 5 miles away.

Available facilities include refreshments, toilets and parking. The event is not suitable for wheelchair users and is not suitable for pushchairs. Sunflower wristbands are available at the enquiries marquee, Event Managers are trained Dementia Friends, and a QR code on site provides British Sign Language stage content.
