Chopwell Woods "Burger & Beer" Trail Runs 2026

Chopwell Woods hosts an annual summer trail running event on Forestry England land at Rowlands Gill, on the fringe of Gateshead. The site covers 360 hectares of mixed woodland and was the location of the organiser's first event in 2019.

Races are offered over multiple distances:

  • 10 Miles
  • 15 Miles

A 5 mile lap route is available. The event is Canicross friendly; one controlled dog per runner is allowed. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. At the finish, all finishers receive an event medal and a food and drink option that includes a burger or alternative and a beer or soft drink.
