Chopwell Woods Summer Trail Runs 2026

Chopwell Woods Summer Trail Runs returns to the organiser's home course at Chopwell Woods, the site of the first Wild Deer Events race in 2019. The venue is a Forestry England site of about 360 hectares of mixed woodland, located next to Rowlands Gill on the fringe of Gateshead, NE39 1LT.

Event distances are offered as:

  • 5 Miles
  • 10 Miles
  • 15 Miles

A mapped 5 mile lap route is available. The event is canicross friendly; one controlled dog per runner is permitted.

Live chip timing will be provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive an event medal, a burger or alternative, and a beer or soft drink.

Free on-site parking is available but spaces are very limited; walking or car sharing is recommended. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
