Preston Pretty Muddy 5k : Avenham and Miller Park

The event is a Pretty Muddy 5k obstacle course held at Avenham and Miller Park in Preston. The course is a single lap that starts and finishes in Avenham Park near the Pavilion Cafe and passes through Frenchwood Recreational Ground and Miller Park. Participants move across a mix of surfaced paths and grass with gentle undulations and views of the River Ribble.

The format includes a series of obstacles where participants climb, crawl and slide. Wave starts are staggered every 15 minutes to manage numbers on the course, and marshals are present to assist at obstacles. The event has an age minimum of 13 years for this Pretty Muddy event; separate Pretty Muddy Kids events exist for children aged 12 and under.

Practical details are noted on site. Facilities available include refreshments, toilets and parking in nearby public car parks. The event is not suitable for wheelchair users and is not suitable for pushchairs. Dogs are not allowed and bag drop and showers are not available. Wheelchair users can access the event site and the Pavilion Cafe to spectate.

Stanhill Fell Race in Oswaldtwistle covers 4.5 mile from the Britannia Tap & Grill. It is Race 5 of the Accrington Fell & Trail Series and entry on the day costs £6.

A summer evening five mile race from Halton Mill in Lancaster following the river Millennium path, meadows and a technical single track. Entries open in April with fees that differ for affiliated and unaffiliated runners, minimum age 16.

Test yourself on a scenic fell course in the South West Pennines near Kelbrook, 5.5 km with 213 m of climb. On the day entry only, £7, with £2 parking at The Old Barn. Teams welcome and minimum age 16; no junior races.

Settle Saunter is an annual walking and running event around Settle in the Yorkshire Dales offering 10k, half marathon and 23 miles routes. Routes are mapped and flagged and SPORTident timing will be used.
