Preston Pretty Muddy 5k at Avenham and Miller Park

The Preston Pretty Muddy 5k takes place on Saturday 05 Jun 2027 and uses a single lap route starting and finishing in Avenham Park. The course passes through Miller Park and Frenchwood Recreational Ground on a mix of surfaced paths and grass, with gentle undulations and views of the River Ribble.

The event format is an obstacle course where participants climb, crawl and slide around multiple obstacles. Wave start times are staggered every 15 minutes for safety. Participants must be at least 13 years old; separate Pretty Muddy Kids events are available for younger children.

The meeting point is in Avenham Park, in front of the Pavilion Cafe, with both the start and finish in this area. Facilities listed for the event include refreshments, toilets and parking. Dogs are not allowed. The site is not wheelchair accessible and is not suitable for pushchairs; in wet weather the grass areas may become soft or muddy. Blue badge parking is available in nearby public car parks, and an electric vehicle charging point is located in Avenham Car Park.

The event raises funds for cancer research. Published entry prices for this event include Earlybird Adult at £11.24 and Earlybird Children at £6.00, and a minimum fundraising target of £50.00. Participants receive event information materials, a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training support resources and a finishers medal.
