London - Blackheath Pretty Muddy 5k

The event on Sunday 28 June 2026 is a Pretty Muddy 5k obstacle course organised by Cancer Research UK at Blackheath Common, Off Prince Charles Road, SE3 0TY. The start and finish are on grass and the course is mainly on grass across the heath.

The route winds up and down the heath and crosses some roads that are closed for safety. The Blackheath course is described as relatively flat throughout. Obstacles involve climbing, crawling and sliding; waves start every 15 minutes to manage flow on the course.

Participants must be at least 13 years old. There are separate Pretty Muddy Kids events for younger children. Meeting point is on the heath next to Prince Charles Road. The nearest train station is Blackheath, around a 10 minute walk. Buses that serve the area include services 54, 202, 380 and 386. Bike racks are available on Tranquil Vale. There is no designated event parking and parking bays on surrounding roads will be suspended. Blue badge parking is available in local car parks.

Available on-site facilities include refreshments and toilets. Dogs are not allowed. The event is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. A minimum fundraising target is set at £50. A timed Friday event on a flat 5.3 km out-and-back course along the river Thames, with lap-based distances from 5 km to ultra and a £10 Run for a Tenner entry benefiting Rays of Sunshine.

A 50km ultra along the River Medway from Rochester to Tonbridge, mostly on marked towpaths and trails and passing three medieval castles. The event includes three aid stations, live timing, bag transfer and a strict nine hour cut off.
