Beyond London : 20 June 2026

Beyond London is a trail running event in London offering two distances that follow parts of the Capital Ring footpath. The routes pass through a mix of footpaths, parks, woodland trails, canal paths and disused railway lines, with steps in places and potential mud depending on weather.

Distances

  • 55 km Ultra - Woolwich start, 3 feed stations, follows Capital Ring.
  • 25 km Trail - Upper Norwood start, 1 feed station, finishes in Richmond upon Thames.

Both distances finish close to Richmond railway station and local bus routes. The 55 km route includes notable locations such as Eltham Palace, Wimbledon Common and Richmond Park. The route is fully signed and supported, with GPX files available for download and chip timing in place.

Practical details provided by the organiser include age limits (55 km: 20 years or over; 25 km: 18 years or over), the number of feed stations (3 for 55 km, 1 for 25 km), and the feed station locations for each route. Route surface proportions are given: 55 km is about 73% paved and 27% unpaved; 25 km is about 74% paved and 26% unpaved. The event includes medical support and a finisher's medal. Cut off points are enforced: the ultra’s second feed station must be passed by 14:00, and all participants must pass Robin Hood Gate into Richmond Park by 18:30.
