Phoenix Striders Summer Series Round 3

The Phoenix Striders Summer Series returns to Langdon Discovery Nature Park as part of a five-round summer series. Round 3 takes place on 16 June 2026 and is one of five scheduled rounds that continue through the summer. Entries on the day are available at the same price as online. The event is held under a Trail Runners Association permit (no. 7230) and under England Athletics rules.

This is a 5k trail event for participants aged 12 years and over. The course comprises two laps of a 2.5 kilometre circuit and starts and finishes at the Discovery Centre. Race numbers are collected on the day from the Discovery Centre. There are no changing facilities at the Centre, but toilets are available and the Centre sells a range of gifts, drinks and snacks.

Entry fees are listed for affiliated and unaffiliated adults and U18s, and a season league trophy is awarded for U16s, adults and the club with the largest turnout. The event supports local charities including Essex Wildlife Trust, The Finish Line Fund, Essex & Herts Air Ambulance and Brighter Outcomes for Special People (BOSP).

The course runs on country park trails where participants may encounter other park users, animals and varied trail terrain such as roots, stones, mud and overhanging vegetation. Organisers provide marshals, a tailwalker and two first aiders with kits and AEDs. Simple event rules include no pushchairs, no dogs and restrictions on headphone use; results are timed manually and the Run Director's decision is final. Results are posted on the series website.
