Maldon Ultras

Maldon Ultras is a lapped off-road event held on the weekend of the summer solstice, 20–21 June 2026, at Limebrook Sports Pavilion in Maldon, CM9. The event uses a single loop of about 10.15 miles, run repeatedly to make the total distances.

The route is approximately 95% off road, following footpaths through fields, woodland and a disused railway line, and passing vineyards with views across Maldon to the Blackwater estuary. The lap is undulating but does not include large mountains. The lapped format gives competitors access to their kit bag every 10 miles. The course will be fully waymarked with arrows and comfort markers.

There are three distance options:

  • 100 mile, 10 laps, approx 101.5 miles total
  • 50 mile, 5 laps, approx 50.75 miles total
  • 30 mile, 3 laps, approx 30.45 miles total

Checkpoints: a halfway checkpoint offers basic refreshments and toilets and the start/finish checkpoint offers sweet and savoury snacks plus hot and cold drinks; hot food is available in the evening. All events are chip timed. Cut-off limits apply: 32 hours for the 100 mile, 16 hours for the 50 mile and 9 hours for the 30 mile. Each distance is limited to 75 places. Minimum age is 20.

Support and kit: only 100 mile runners may have a support runner, and then only for the final two laps. Mandatory kit lists apply to each distance and will be checked. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
