The Maldon Ultras take place on 20 and 21 June 2026 at Limebrook Sports Pavilion, Sunderland Ave, Maldon, CM9 6GJ. The event offers three distances on a lapped course: 101.5 miles (100-mile), 50.75 miles (50-mile) and 30.45 miles (30-mile). The course is a 10.15 mile lap, listed as 10.15 miles per lap, and is about 95% off road, running along footpaths through fields, woodland and a disused railway line, with sections through vineyards and views toward the Blackwater estuary. Each race has 75 places. Standard entry costs are £120 for the 100-mile, £70 for the 50-mile and £45 for the 30-mile, with discounted rates available until 15 June 2026 for affiliated club members.

Course format, cutoffs and requirements

All races use a lapped format with fully marked laps and checkpoints. Cut-off limits are given as durations: 32 hours for the 100-mile, 16 hours for the 50-mile and 9 hours for the 30-mile. The event is chip timed. Minimum age is 20. External support is permitted only for 100-mile entrants and only on the final two laps; any other use of support runners will lead to disqualification. Finishers receive awards: a buckle for the 100-mile and medals for the 50-mile and 30-mile. Mandatory kit lists apply for each distance and include a minimum of 1 litre of liquid, a reusable cup, a hooded waterproof jacket with taped seams, a basic first aid kit, a mobile phone and power bank, and emergency food. A roughly 42 mile trail ultra along the historic St Peters Way from Chipping Ongar to the ancient chapel at Bradwell on Sea. The route uses footpaths and bridleways, has four staffed checkpoints and strict compulsory kit requirements.
