Leeds Pretty Muddy 5k : Temple Newsam, Leeds

Leeds Pretty Muddy is a 5k obstacle event at Temple Newsam on Saturday 11 July 2026. The course is a single lap over a combination of grass and surfaced paths, with varying elevations. The start and finish are on grass at a slight hill in the field in front of Temple Newsam House, adjacent to the Courtyard and Animal Farm.

Participants climb, crawl and slide around a route designed with obstacles. Start times are run in staggered waves every 15 minutes. The event has a minimum age of 13 years; a separate Pretty Muddy Kids programme exists for children aged 12 and under.

Facilities listed for the event include refreshments, toilets and parking. Blue badge parking is available at the general event parking area. General vehicle access is via Temple Newsam Road, with an approximate 300 m route to the event site on paths and grass sloping downhill. Cycle stands and lockers are provided at named locations on site. The nearest train station is Cross Gates, about 1.9 miles away. Dogs are not allowed and the event is not suitable for wheelchair users or pushchairs.

Scenic 5K, 10K and half marathon options in Bingley organised by Its Grim Up North Running, with finishers receiving a jumble medal plus hot food and a drink. Online places have sold out but places on the day are available.

Test yourself on a scenic fell course in the South West Pennines near Kelbrook, 5.5 km with 213 m of climb. On the day entry only, £7, with £2 parking at The Old Barn. Teams welcome and minimum age 16; no junior races.

Run the Trunce 4 fell race in the Peak District from Oxspring Playing Field, a scenic 6.2 km route with 190 m of climb. On the day entries are just £3 and a 3 km junior race for ages 10 plus makes it great for families.

A series of four MapRun score races in the Peak District, each with a two hour limit and 40 controls. Runs can be completed anytime between June 1 and September 27, 2026, and the series score combines results from all four races.
