The event is a Pretty Muddy 5k obstacle course held at Temple Newsam, Leeds. The route is a single lap on a mix of grass and surfaced paths with varying elevations; the start and finish are on grass on a slight hill. The course includes climbing, crawling and sliding obstacles.

Meeting and event access are on the field in front of Temple Newsam House, adjacent to the Courtyard and Animal Farm. General event parking and blue badge parking are accessed via Temple Newsam Road; drop offs are available near the roundabout at the end of Temple Newsam Road. The nearest train station is Cross Gates, about 1.9 miles away. Cycle stands are provided at the Walled Garden and the Farm Car Park, and cycle lockers are available in the Stable Courtyard.
