Carlisle Pretty Muddy 5k

The event is a Pretty Muddy 5k obstacle course held on Sunday 05 July 2026 at Bitts Park, Dacre Road, Carlisle CA3 8UZ. The venue start and finish are on the main playing fields of Bitts Park.

The course is predominantly flat and runs mostly on smooth paths and grass with a short section of woodland trails. Participants are invited to climb, crawl and slide around a series of obstacles; marshals are available on course to assist and some obstacles may be skipped if necessary. Start waves are staggered every 15 minutes and groups should register for the same wave. The meeting point is in front of the stage; the exact starting point is referenced as ///birds.market.papers in the what3words app.

Access and facilities include on-site toilets and refreshments. Parking is available at the Devonshire Walks car park opposite the start; this is a pay and display car park with Blue Badge and volunteer parking also at Devonshire Walk. Public transport and walking access are close by, with Carlisle train station about a 15 minute walk and several bus services within a short walk. Bike racks are available at Sheepmount Athletics Stadium. Electric vehicle charging is nearest at Sainsburys Carlisle.

The event is not suitable for wheelchair users or pushchairs and dogs are not allowed. Entry fees shown are Adults £22.49 and Children £12.00 with a minimum fundraising target of £50.00. An 11.5 mile fell race around the Newlands fells on 18 April 2026, based at Newlands Adventure Centre in Keswick. Entry is limited to 500 and runners must carry mandatory mountain running kit with pre entry required.
