Carlisle Pretty Muddy 5k

The event is the Pretty Muddy 5k obstacle course held at Bitts Park, Dacre Road, Carlisle, CA3 8UZ. Participants climb, crawl and slide around a 5 km course. The start and finish are on grass and the route is predominantly flat, mostly on smooth paths and grass with a short section of woodland trails.

The meeting point is on the main playing fields of Bitts Park. Start times run in staggered waves every 15 minutes; groups are asked to book the same wave. Marshals are positioned on course and obstacles may be skipped if needed. Entry requires participants to be 13 years of age or older.

Facilities available at the event include refreshments, toilets and parking. Bag drop is not available. The event is not suitable for wheelchair users or pushchairs and dogs are not allowed. Blue Badge parking is available at Devonshire Walk Car Park, which is a pay and display car park near the start. Carlisle Train Station is about a 15 minute walk and several bus services stop a short walk away. Bike racks are at Sheepmount Athletics Stadium and the nearest electric vehicle charging points are at Sainsburys Carlisle.

Fell race on 5 July 2026 around Skiddaw in the Lake District, based at Keswick Cricket Club. The course is 15.4 km with 960 m of ascent and entry on the day is accepted for a fee of £10.

Take on the Borrowdale School Bash up Bessyboot in the Lake District: a short but fierce 5.2 km with 456 m of climb, offering stunning fell views and a real challenge. Entry on the day, with beer and a burger for every finisher.

A round of the FRA Junior Championships at Whinlatter Forest Park on 12 July 2026. Multiple junior categories from U10 to U20 run mapped fell courses with specified distances and ascent for each age group.

An uphill only 6 km race with 850 m of ascent from Patterdale to Swirral Edge, including steep paths, a Red Tarn Basin section and easy scrambling to a trig point. Held as part of the Rab Helvellyn Sky Ultra weekend.
