Carlisle Pretty Muddy 5k

The event takes place on Sunday 05 July 2026 at Bitts Park, Dacre Road, Carlisle CA3 8UZ. The course is the Pretty Muddy 5k: an obstacle route where participants climb, crawl and slide around a roughly 5 kilometre loop. The start and finish are on the main playing fields.

The course is predominantly flat and mostly on smooth paths and grass, with a short section of woodland trails. Pretty Muddy events use staggered wave starts every 15 minutes. Participants must be 13 years of age or older; there are separate Pretty Muddy Kids events for children aged 12 and under.

Entry fees listed are Adults £22.49 and Children £12.00, and there is a minimum fundraising target of £50.00. Participants receive a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training plans and support resources, community access and a Race for Life medal at the finish.

Travel and onsite details note parking at Devonshire Walks Car Park across the road from the park (pay and display), Blue Badge parking availability, bus stops within a short walk and Carlisle Train Station about a 15 minute walk. Bike racks are at Sheepmount Athletics Stadium. Available facilities include refreshments, toilets and parking. The event is not wheelchair accessible; bag drop, showers and pushchairs are not suitable. Sunflower wristbands, trained Event Managers and a BSL QR code are provided to support accessibility. A 10 km urban trail through central Carlisle on 06 May 2026 that passes Carlisle Cathedral, Millennium Bridge and Carlisle Castle. Entry is limited to 300 runners aged 15 and over with overall and age group prizes.

Tackle a classic Lake District fell race from Dockray to Hartside on Wed 6 May 2026, covering 10 km with a stiff 800 m of climb. Entry on the day is £5 with parking at the quarry car park. Expect a tough scenic course and friendly vibes.

Canicross at Dodd Wood on 9 May 2026 with two marked, chip timed loops and views over Bassenthwaite Lake. Choose an 8K route with 370 m ascent or a 5K route with 210 m ascent; two dogs per runner are allowed on wide sections.

Final event of Lakeland Paws Season 4 at Whinlatter with fully marked forest and trail courses. Two options, an 8K summit loop and a 5K shorter route, chip timed and with harnesses available for dogs.
