Whinlatter FRA Junior Championships
The Whinlatter FRA Junior Championships take place on Sunday 12 July 2026 at Whinlatter Forest Park, with parking at Revelin Moss Car Park, Whinlatter Pass (postcode CA12 5TW). This event forms Round 6 of the FRA Junior Championship series and is held under Fell Runners Association rules.
Entrants must be entered according to their age at the end of 2026. There are separate junior categories with defined distances and ascent as follows:
- U10 (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020; age 6-9): 1.5 km, 100 m ascent
- U12 (2016, 2015; age 10-11): 2 km, 190 m ascent
- U14 (2014, 2013; age 12-13): 3.2 km, 350 m ascent
- U16 (2012, 2011; age 14-15): 3.6 km, 420 m ascent
- U18 (2010, 2009; age 16-17): 3.6 km, 420 m ascent
- U20 (2008, 2007; age 18-19): 5.6 km, 510 m ascent
All junior routes are out and back except the U20 and senior route, which follows a clockwise course. Course maps are provided for each category. Junior entries close on 10 July 2026 and there are no entries on the day for junior races.
