Pup-A-Go 5k Hike/Run : Papago Park, Phoenix, AZ

The event is a 5K hike/run held at Papago Park West Butte Trailhead in Phoenix, AZ on December 14, 2025. It is organized in partnership with Home Fur Good; a portion of registration fees will be donated to that no-kill animal shelter. Hikers and runners may participate with dogs or solo. Dogs must be leashed at all times and have current vaccinations. Doggie poop bags will be provided. The event proceeds rain or shine and there are no refunds for cancellations.

Course and logistics

The 5K course is one counterclockwise loop around Papago Park and will be marked at critical junctions. An aid station at the start will offer cold water, hydration mix, snacks and bananas; there are no other aid stations on the course, so participants are advised to bring additional hydration and fuel. Free parking is provided across the street from the start area at 625 N Galvin Parkway, a short walk to the event. Porta potties will be available at the start. All paid 5K entrants will receive a Pup-A-Go sticker and commemorative Pup-A-Go / Home Fur Good swag; organizers are working with vendors to possibly provide additional items for dogs. Registration closes December 5. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
