Weymouth, United Kingdom • 8 Feb 2026
Event details
The Portland Coastal Ultra Trail Marathon is organised by Bustinskin Events and takes place from the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy, Portland DT5 1SA on 8 February 2026. The event offers three distances:
- Marathon
- Half marathon
- 10k
Entries close when the race reaches its limit or on the published closing date. The event is held under UK Athletics rules, including Rule 141 s 5 for maximum permitted distances by age group.
Route and navigation
The course follows the Portland section of the South West Coast Path. There are no specific event markers; participants must download the route in advance and navigate themselves. The path is waymarked with fingerpost signs showing the Acorn symbol. The route is run as two loops with the basic navigation principle: keep the sea on the left for loop 1 and on the right for loop 2. Printed route maps are provided and feed station check-in points are used to confirm completion of the full course.
Facilities, timing and mandatory kit
Facilities and services include a bespoke finishers medal, trophies for the first three male and female finishers in each distance, energy refreshments at checkpoints and the finish, experienced medical cover, chip timing, free professional race photos, and a Portland Coastal Marathon buff. Participants may purchase a technical running T-shirt for £13 during registration.
All participants must carry mandatory kit. Items listed include a 500 ml drink container, windproof jacket, emergency nutrition, head covering, charged mobile phone in a waterproof bag, foil blanket or full-sized bin liner, whistle, and a small first aid kit. Kit checks may occur before the start and randomly during the race; failure to carry required kit can prevent starting, lead to disqualification, and forfeit refunds.
