Phoenix Striders Summer Series Round 4

The event takes place on 21 Jul 2026 as the fourth of five rounds in the Phoenix Striders Summer Series. It is a trail 5k held at the Essex Wildlife Trust Langdon Discovery Nature Park on the Langdon Hills. The 5k comprises two laps of a 2.5k circuit and starts and finishes at the Discovery Centre.

Entry is open to people aged 12 and over. Entry fees are listed by affiliation status: adults £2.50 affiliated, £4.50 unaffiliated; U18s £1.50 affiliated, £2.50 unaffiliated. Entries on the day are available at the same price as online. The event is held under a Trail Runners Association permit (no. 7231) and under England Athletics rules.

There are no changing facilities at the Discovery Centre but toilets are available. Race numbers are to be collected at the Discovery Centre on the day. Confirmation of entry and details about parking and transport are sent by email if an address is provided on the entry form. The Centre sells Essex Wildlife Trust gifts, snacks and drinks.

Marshals, a tailwalker and two first aiders with kits and AEDs will cover the course. The route runs on typical trail terrain where participants may encounter other park users, animals, tree roots, cobbles, mud, brambles and nettles. A few rules apply such as no pushchairs, no dogs and restrictions on headphones. Results are timed manually and published on the series website. League trophies are awarded at season end and the event supports local charities including Essex Wildlife Trust and Brighter Outcomes for Special People.
