Event Overview

This is a timed running event along The Itchen Way in Winchester, Hampshire. Participants choose how many laps of a 2.62-mile (approx. 4.22 km) out-and-back course they wish to complete within a 7-hour time limit.

Event Format

The course is a single out-and-back route that crosses the Hockley Viaduct. Participants can run one lap or continue for the full duration. Distances are cumulative based on the number of laps completed.

  • Five laps equals a half marathon.
  • Ten laps equals a marathon.
  • Eleven or more laps qualifies as an ultra marathon. Every participant who completes at least one lap is considered a finisher.

Logistics

The event uses a flexible start window. The official start is at 08:00, but runners may begin any time up to 13:00. The course closes at 15:00. The event base is the Garnier Road Car Park in Winchester. Ample parking is available a short walk away at the St. Catherine's Park & Ride (postcode SO23 9NP for sat nav). Parking charges apply on certain days.
