Phoenix - Remembrance Day Marathon & Half Marathon
The Remembrance Day Marathon & Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 08 November 2026 at Xcel SPORTS HUB Stadium, Waterside Drive, Walton on Thames, Surrey, KT12 2JG. The event marks its 10th edition and includes both marathon and half marathon distances on a riverside towpath course.
The route is organised as out-and-back laps: four laps equal the full marathon distance and two laps make the half marathon. The overall course is described with no elevation gain or loss, making it flat. A distinctive feature of the event is a planned race freeze to observe a two minute silence at 11:00, signalled by a horn; runners resume when the horn sounds again. The silence is presented as the central focus of the event.
Entry fees listed are the same for both distances, and past editions have sold out with places strictly limited. The first 100 entries for the 10th edition receive an additional item. Distance restrictions apply to participants aged 20 or under in line with UK Athletics rules. The event offers both attended and virtual participation; all participants receive a physical giveaway medal or memento, and the 10th edition will have a special medal design.
