PHOENIX Fridays - Run for a Tenner Friday - October

PHOENIX Fridays are a series of timed running events with flexible rock up and run start times. This Run for a Tenner charity edition takes place at Xcel SPORTS HUB Stadium in Walton on Thames and uses an out and back course along the river Thames towpath.

Entry for this event is listed at £10 for affiliated runners and £12 for unaffiliated runners. For the Run for a Tenner charity runs the advertised ten pound entry is allocated to the Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity. All participants, attended or virtual, receive a giveaway medal or memento; this event features a double sided Rays of Sunshine medal.

The course is a 5.3 km (3.28 mile) lap, flat with no elevation gain or loss, on off road trail and riverside towpath. Runners choose how many laps to complete within the event time limit. Minimum distance is one lap, or as far as a participant can go in seven hours. Distance options include:

  • 5 km to 10 km
  • Half marathon to marathon
  • Ultra distances by completing additional laps

Trail races of Half Marathon, 10K and 5K run from Marlow Rugby Union Football Club on 28 June 2026, using marked off road routes through the Thames Valley countryside with marshals, chip timing and race photos.

A Half Marathon at Box Hill Fort (Tadworth) on 28 June 2026 with more than 3000 feet of ascent and descent. The route runs mainly on rough tracks and offers views over the North Downs, the Mole Gap, Denbies Vineyard and Dorking.
