BigHeat "CAMP-FIRE"

BigHeat is a trail running festival and the third installment of the Classic Element Trail Series, representing the element of fire. The event takes place over a full weekend at Mill Farm in the West Sussex village of Lurgashall. The single lap courses lead participants through the Surrey Hills and surrounding countryside, featuring diverse terrain such as winding dusty tracks, sun baked forests, and open sandy plains. The routes include sections of The Serpent Trail and pass through locations such as Blackdown and The Temple of the Winds.

Participants can choose from several distances:

  • 50km Ultramarathon
  • Marathon
  • 16 Mile
  • 12km
  • 2km LittleFeet Flower Trail fun run

The festival site at Mill Farm serves as the central hub for the weekend, offering an event village with various amenities. Facilities include a bag drop, showers, and a water point. On-site activities feature yoga sessions, a wild sauna, live music in the evenings, and firepits. Attendees have the option of standard camping or staying in luxury bell tents.

All routes are fully marked, though runners are encouraged to use GPX files for navigation. Aid stations provide sweet and savoury snacks, as well as electrolyte drinks and gels. This is a cupless event, and all participants are required to carry a minimum of 500ml of fluid. Finishers receive a bespoke medal or can opt to have a tree planted through the Trees Not Tees organization. Canicross entries are not permitted.
