BigHeat "CampFIRE"

BigHeat CampFIRE is a weekend trail running festival and the Fire event in the Classic Element Trail Series, scheduled for the weekend of 18 and 19 July 2026. It takes place at Mill Farm in the West Sussex village of Lurgashall, Petworth GU28 9ER.

The event offers several single-lap trail distances, with routes that run along dusty tracks, through sun-baked woodland and across open sandy plains. Courses pass locations including The Serpent Trail, Blackdown and The Temple of the Winds and return to the event village at Mill Farm. Although the courses are marked, participants are advised to download the GPX route file in case markers are tampered with.

Distances and entry prices:

  • 50 km Ultramarathon £65
  • Marathon £56
  • 16 mile £42
  • 12 km £32
  • LittleFeet 2 km Flower Trail £10 (cash payment at registration; no finishers medal)

Camping is available for the weekend. A single camping pitch costs £40 and admits one vehicle; no electric hook-up is provided and a water point is available. Premier camping comprises eight bell tents for two nights at £200 each, each tent sleeping four and supplied with bedding and basic furnishings. Showers and toilet facilities are included for campsite ticket holders.

Runners must carry at least 500 ml of fluid; handheld soft flasks are permitted. Aid stations will provide snacks, vegan options, water and flat coke and will be stocked with PH 1000 electrolyte liquid. The event is cupless and a bag drop tent will operate on both days. Cut-off limits apply for each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
