About the race
Brutal - Halloween at Hogmoor is an annual evening Halloween-themed trail event held on a recreational area shaped by former army use. The course is a looped layout used for multiple laps and includes varied underfoot conditions such as short sandy hills, areas of mud and shallow water. The site is scattered with oversized human statues that contribute to the Halloween atmosphere, and there is a playground on site.
Distances offered:
- 3.3 km, kids loop; children aged 10 and under must be accompanied.
- 6.6 km, two laps; minimum age 10; canicross option available.
- 10 km, three laps; minimum age 13.
Adults may run an initial lap with a child and then continue to complete two or three laps. Juniors are defined as under 16 on race day and age categories separate seniors and veterans at 40 and over. Parking at the venue is free, car sharing is available, and refreshments will be provided on site. Medals are awarded to all finishers. Entry pricing is organised into early bird and standard tiers that vary by distance and age category. The races take place after dark so a torch or headlamp is recommended.
