Perennial: A Time Based Endurance Run
Perennial is a time based running event held on March 7, 2026 at Daniel Stowe Conservancy in Belmont, North Carolina. The event offers three time categories: 3 hour, 6 hour, and 10 hour. Participants complete repeated laps on an about 5K loop that follows waterfront trails on conservancy grounds. The loop surface is mostly trails and crushed gravel and starts and finishes at Race HQ where an aid station is located.
Runners choose their own pace and may take mid race breaks. Standings are determined first by total laps completed and then by elapsed time within each time category. Distance milestones are noted by lap totals with 4 laps roughly a half marathon, 8 laps roughly a marathon, 12 laps about 40 miles, and 16 laps about 50 miles. Any distance covered after a time category ends does not count toward standings.
Event registration is limited to the first 150 entrants and includes event items such as a custom sun hoodie, a souvenir race bib, and eligibility for escalating distance prizes and partner giveaways. The event lists Daniel Stowe Conservancy as beneficiary and describes environmental measures including cup free and safety pin free policies and collection programs for used shirts, shoes, and medals. Participants are expected to be self sufficient for personal needs while basic supplies and refreshments are available at Race HQ. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
