Penn An Wlas

Penn An Wlas is scheduled for Sunday 11 July 2027. It is a 10 mile looped multi‑terrain race that uses sections of the Cornish coast path and inland footpaths. The route leaves Lands End and passes through Sennen Cove and Gwynver, then turns inland via Sennen Bottoms and Polgigga before returning to the coast path at Nanjizal and finishing back at Lands End.

The course includes road, grass and gravel track surfaces and features both uphill sections and faster running stretches. The start and finish are at the Lands End attraction, located close to the Lands End Hotel, with the start and finish points a short walk from the main hotel building. There is ample parking available and parking is free for local residents who register their vehicle. On-site registration is handled at the Lands End Hotel. Entries for races close two weeks beforehand. There is a four hour cut off for the race. All finishers receive an event medal and a free beer. Prizes are awarded to the first to third placed female and male runners, along with a team trophy and a "True Grit" award. An advisory kit list is provided and participants are warned that some footpaths are remote along the Cornish coastline. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
