The Pemberton Trail races are held on trails in McDowell Mountain Regional Park near Fountain Hills, Arizona. The event offers the following distances:

  • 50K
  • 25K

The course is entirely on trails with gently rolling hills. The 50K has an 8-hour time limit, and an early start option is available for 50K entrants only. Awards are given for overall, masters, and super masters champions. Historical course results include a recorded men's 50K time of 2:49:03 in 2020 and a previous recorded time of 3:11:55 from 2007.

Registration and series information

Early bird pricing ends November 30, 2025. Runners who register by December 10, 2025 are guaranteed a Pemberton Trail race shirt. General registration closes January 22, 2026 at 11:59 PM MT.

Pemberton Trail is race number 1 in the McDowell Mountain Cup series. Participation with the Stoneman 14K Trail Run (Feb. 7) and the Snakebite 20K or 10K (Mar. 1) makes an entrant eligible for Mountain Cup prizes; series participation is not required. Run scenic Sonoran single track at McDowell Mountain Frenzy, with distances from 5 miles to 50 miles for every runner. Well stocked aid stations, finisher awards and festival feel make it a must run.

Run under the stars on winding single track through McDowell Mountain Regional Park with 25K, 10 mile and 5 mile options for every level. Part of the Insomniac Night Series and paired with the day races for a Double Down medal.

Bring your pup for a fun 5K hike or run around Papago Park and support Home Fur Good, a no kill shelter. Enjoy a scenic loop, swag for paid entrants, and a portion of registration donated to help local dogs.

Choose from 5K to 50K and explore rocky desert trails at Cave Creek Regional Park on December 20, 2025. This Aravaipa Desert Runner Trail Series race combines scenic views with challenging terrain and aid stations.
