Event Overview

The Peak District Ultra Challenge takes place on 4-5 July 2026 in the Peak District National Park. The event hub is located in Bakewell. Participants can walk, jog, or run one of several distances. Over 3,000 people are expected.

Available Distances

  • 100 km: A full, continuous figure-of-eight route with around 2150m of climb.
  • ~73 km: The three-quarter distance option.
  • 52 km: The first half, covering a northern loop with around 1250m of climb.
  • 48 km: The second half, covering a southern loop with around 900m of climb.
  • 25 km: A quarter-distance Bakewell loop with around 600m of climb.
  • 10 miles: A shorter Bakewell loop with around 350m of climb.

The 100km distance can also be completed as a two-day 'Daylight' option over Saturday and Sunday.

Event Features

A basecamp in Bakewell provides facilities including camping, parking, and hospitality. The route passes by Chatsworth House. New for 2026 are the Ultra Trailblazerz® option for competitive runners and the Ultra March® option for walkers aiming for specific time targets (e.g., 100km in under 24 hours). A dedicated start time for solo challengers is also available.

Support and Amenities

The event provides fully signed routes, marquee rest stops approximately every 12.5 km, and free meals, snacks, and drinks at these stops. Support includes medical and massage teams, GPS tracking via a mobile app, and an app with route maps and participant tracking.
