Peak District Ultra Challenge
The event is a multi-distance trail challenge based around a basecamp in Bakewell in the Southern Peak District. Routes include looped courses that pass Derbyshire scenery and a figure-of-eight route for the full 100 km challenge. The weekend programme includes camping, parking, transfers, and on-site hospitality and welfare services.
Distances offered include:
- 100 km loop
- 50 km loop
- 25 km loop
- 10 mile Bakewell option
Support infrastructure includes marquee rest stops roughly every 12.5 km with major stops about every 25 km. Rest stops provide covered areas, catering, seating, changing rooms, medical and welfare tents, and snack and meal provision. The event uses a signed route with many route markers and GPS tracking via an app. A timing system scans participants at rest stops and logs progress in a central control room.
Additional services described are massage, podiatry and medical teams, a mobile emergency medical service linked to the control room, and a range of camping packages including a circa 50 km campsite for the two-day 100 km option. Finishers receive a medal, T-shirt, a glass of fizz, a finisher’s meal, and an official challenge certificate can be downloaded afterwards. The event also offers options for corporate teams and has supported many company teams in past years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
