Peak District Ultra Challenge

The event is based around a Bakewell basecamp in the Southern Peak District and offers multiple route options across Derbyshire countryside. The basecamp includes camping, car parking, transfers, hospitality and a bar. The organiser expects over 3,000 participants across the weekend.

Route options include:

  • 100 km loop
  • 50 km loop
  • 25 km loop
  • 10 mile option in Bakewell

The route is fully signed with hundreds of pink arrows and glow sticks for night sections. An event app provides GPS tracking and Google route maps, and a timing system logs scans at rest stops. Covered rest stops are placed roughly every 12.5 km with larger marquee rest stops approximately every 25 km. Rest stops include catering, seating, changing areas, medical and welfare tents, and massage services.

Food and drink are provided throughout the route with snacks and drink stops every 12.5 km and a meal roughly every 25 km. The event offers medical staff, paramedics, podiatrists, massage teams, and a 24 hour control room with mobile emergency teams. Camping packages include showers and chill out areas for those using the multi day options.

Participants receive a finisher medal, a T shirt, a glass of fizz and a finisher meal, and can download an official challenge certificate after completion. There are also solo start, Ultra March and Trailblazerz options and provisions for corporate teams. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
