The Peak District Ultra Challenge is based at a Bakewell basecamp in the Southern Peak District on 4-5 July 2026. The event uses a figure-of-8 route around Derbyshire and includes looped courses that start and finish at Bakewell. The route passes Chatsworth House and the full continuous 100 km option lists approximately 2150 m of climb. Camping, parking, transfers, and on-site hospitality are provided at the Bakewell basecamp.
Distances and categories
- 100 km - full continuous, Bakewell to Bakewell, ~2150 m climb
- 100 km (2 day) - 52 km + 48 km loops, optional camping at basecamp
- ~73 km - 3/4 Challenge, ~1500 m climb
- 52 km - northern loop, ~1250 m climb
- 48 km - southern loop, ~900 m elevation
- 25 km - Bakewell loop, ~600 m elevation
- 10 miles - Bakewell loop, ~350 m climb
There are specialist entry categories: Ultra March for walkers aiming for sub-target times, Trailblazerz for faster competitive runners, and a Solo Challengers start option.
Course support and services
The event provides covered rest stops every ~12.5 km with major stops about every ~25 km, plus marquee cover, catering, seating, changing areas, medical teams, podiatrists, and massage. The route is fully signed with pink arrows and GPS tracking via an event app. Participants receive timing scans at rest stops and finish with a medal, finisher T-shirt, and a finishers meal.
