Peak District Ultra Challenge

The Peak District Ultra Challenge is a multi-distance trail event held in the Southern Peak District with Bakewell as the basecamp. The event is scheduled for 4-5 July 2026 and 3-4 July 2027 and expects over 3,000 participants. Camping, parking, transfers, and a bar are available at the basecamp.

The 100 km option follows a figure-of-eight route through Derbyshire scenery. Several routes pass Chatsworth House. There are supported rest stops approximately every 12.5 km with marquee cover and larger rest stops every 25 km. Catering is provided at rest stops, with snacks every 12.5 km and a meal every 25 km; dietary requirements are catered for and lighter options are available for runners. An app provides GPS tracking and route maps, and a timing system scans participants at rest stops.

Medical, welfare, and massage services are on site, with doctors, paramedics, podiatrists, and a 24 hour control room. Camping packages include a roughly 50 km campsite option for two-day 100 km participants, with showers and chill-out areas. Finishers receive a medal, T-shirt, a glass of fizz, and a finisher's meal. Trail runs nearby

A multi-terrain five-mile race around Manchester Airport Runway 2, including the Bollin Tunnel. Organised by Wilmslow RC, entries are limited, proceeds go to MNDA and the event is EA certified.

A 10 km trail race through Stalybridge Country Park and local moorland. Finishers receive a local chip muffin voucher for completing this event organized by Crazy Legs Events.

An evening trail race in Shirtcliffe Woods organised by Handsworth Roadhogs, run over two laps totalling 5.25 miles (8.5 km). Entry is online only with fees of £6 for UKA affiliated and £8 for unaffiliated runners.

A 9.5 km fell race to the summit of Win Hill on 1 July 2026 with 451 metres of ascent. Entry is by on the day fee and all profits support local charities and community groups.
