The Peak District Ultra Challenge takes place in the Southern Peak District with a Bakewell basecamp on 4-5 July 2026. The event uses a figure-of-8 route through Derbyshire countryside and passes Chatsworth House on some distances. Camping, parking, transfers, a bar, and basecamp hospitality are available at Bakewell.

Routes and elevation

The full continuous 100 km route is a figure-of-8 with about ~2150 m total climb. The two-day 100 km option is split into a Northern Loop of 52 km with ~1250 m climb and a Southern Loop of 48 km with ~900 m climb. The 3/4 challenge is listed at ~73 km with ~1500 m climb. The 25 km and 10 mile loops list approximately ~600 m and ~350 m elevation respectively.

Support and categories

Organiser support includes signed routes with GPS tracking, rest stops every ~12.5 km and major rest stops every ~25 km, marquee cover, catering for dietary needs, medical and massage teams, and timing at rest stops. Entry categories include an Ultra March option for walkers and a Trailblazerz category for faster, competitive runners. Registration can be self-funded or linked to charity fundraising. The Totley AC Race Series will take place in Longshaw from Sunday 25 January 2026 to Sunday 6 September 2026.

Take on the Dovedale Big Daddy on 1 February 2026, an AL fell race in the Peak District covering 20.4 km with 1370 m ascent and nine steep climbs through the Manifold and Dovedale valleys. Entries close 29 January and are limited to 250.
