Event details

The 5K route runs on hard packed sand roads through the Pere Marquette Forest. The 10K route is described as having varied, hilly terrain and quiet surroundings. The event is supported by the Traverse City Track Club. Registration opens January 2, 2026. Entry price listed is $40.

Logistics and extras

The event is dog friendly with the request that dogs remain in vehicles until just before the race and be on a leash while with their owner. Registered participants receive a t-shirt, timed results, a swag bag, refreshments, and the Peace Race Lucky Horseshoe Medal. Plaques are awarded to the top three male and female finishers, and those names are added to the annual race plaque at Peace Ranch. A medal ceremony and post-race tours are planned. Two days of Nordic ski and fat tire bike races in Traverse City, MI on February 14 and 15, 2026 celebrating the event's 50th anniversary with multiple distances, youth and adaptive categories, and a Saturday evening community celebration.

A 5K at the Interlochen Center for the Arts with live music and art, offered as both a live and a virtual event between May 2 and May 16, 2026; proceeds support student scholarships and virtual entries receive a shirt and medal.
