The event takes place at Pengethley Manor near Ross-on-Wye. The course is off-road and located entirely within the manor grounds. It involves a series of ups and downs through two vineyards and includes a hill that is repeated on each lap.

The race has a time limit of 7 hours. Each lap is 2.5 km long. Participants can enter either in person or virtually from any location. Paid virtual entries receive the same medal as in-person competitors. There is also a free option to participate via a Strava club, which includes a results listing but no medal.

This event is part of a larger series that includes other races named after the subsequent days of the Christmas carol, such as '2 Turtle Doves' and '3 French Hens Run'. Each race in the series has its own unique medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
