Course, amenities and race features
The course is a loop on singletrack trail that runs along a creek and includes areas with pine needles and rolling hills. Aid stations are fully stocked and located approximately every 4-5 miles. Weather in December is variable and may include rain or snow.
Awards include carved wooden medals and prizes for the top three male and female finishers in each race and the relay. Long sleeve shirts are provided to participants. A chili cook-off offers prizes and aprons for entrants. A marathon team category is available: teams can have multiple runners, each runner completes the full marathon, the top three individual times per team are added, and the lowest combined time wins; each runner also receives an individual time.
