Event Overview

The Saunders Springs Shootout is a two-day trail sports event held at Saunders Springs Nature Preserve in Radcliff, Kentucky. The event takes place on Saturday, April 11, and Sunday, April 12, 2026. It features separate days for mountain bike endurance races and trail running races. All proceeds from the event support the Saunders Springs Betterment Fund, KyMBA Lincoln Trails, and the local trail community.

Mountain Bike Events (Saturday)

Saturday is dedicated to mountain bike races. The main events are 6-hour endurance races with different team formats. Available categories include:

  • Solo
  • Duo (two-person teams)
  • 4-Person teams for adults
  • 4-Person teams for juniors (ages 11-17) A kids' mountain bike race for ages 10 and under is free. There is also a non-competitive "Party Lapper" option for a single lap. Electric mountain bikes (eMTBs) are allowed in the open classes.

Trail Run Events (Sunday)

Sunday features trail running races. The running distances are:

  • 5K
  • 10K
  • 25K A free kids' trail run for ages 10 and under is also held. The running and mountain bike courses share the same trails, which are described as 99% singletrack.

Location and Course

All races start in the lower area of Saunders Springs Nature Preserve, located at 100 Saunders Springs Lane in Radcliff. The kids' races for both biking and running are held at the Stovall Cabin within the preserve. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
