Saunders Springs Shootout, Radcliff KY

The Saunders Springs Shootout is a two day trail event at Saunders Springs Nature Preserve on April 11-12, 2026. The program separates mountain bike endurance racing and trail running across the preserve, with start and finish in the lower area and kids races at the Stovall Cabin.

Saturday features mountain bike endurance classes that include solo, duo, four person adult teams, and four person junior teams. eMTBs are permitted in the open classes. A Party Lapper option provides a single lap with no timing and no awards. A separate kids mountain bike race is offered for ages 10 and under.

Sunday hosts trail running events on courses that are reported as 99% singletrack. Distances include:

  • 5K trail run
  • 10K trail run
  • 25K trail run
  • Kid's trail run (10 and under)

Proceeds benefit the Saunders Springs Betterment Fund, KyMBA Lincoln Trails, and the local trail community. All races use trails within Saunders Springs Nature Preserve and follow the preserve layout and trail system. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Trail races in Shepherdsville on March 28, 2026 offer 25k, 50k and 5k options across Crooked Creek sections with multiple water and aid stations. Participants receive a race shirt and finisher's medal, with a nine hour cutoff.

An overnight team relay at Otter Creek Park (Brandenburg, KY) where teams of two or four rotate through three loops of 3, 5, and 9 miles, with on-site camping, an aid station at the hub, evening music, and night running.

A community 5K at Freeman Lake Park on June 13, 2026 that supports families affected by Batten Disease through Gavin's Gifts. The lakeside out and back course includes a water stop and every participant receives a finisher's medal.
