#Onemileatatime 12 Hour Challenge

Columbus, United States • 20 Jun 2026

Event Overview

The #onemileatatime 12 Hour Challenge is an endurance event held at Oxbow Meadows in Columbus, Georgia. This competition follows a "Last Man Standing" format inspired by the hashtag used by Jerome Scales. Participants compete on a 1 mile paved loop, with the maximum total distance reaching 50 miles for those who complete the entire 12 hour cycle.

Format and Rules

The race structure requires participants to complete a 1 mile loop within a specific time window. For the first 10 hours of the event, runners have exactly 15 minutes to finish the loop. Participants are not permitted to start the next loop until the 15-minute segment has concluded. Runners must be present in the starting corral when the bell sounds for each new lap; failure to be at the start line results in disqualification.

During the final two hours, the time allowed for each lap gradually decreases. The schedule for the last 10 miles shortens the window every other lap, moving from 14 minutes down to a 10-minute limit. If multiple runners remain for the final lap at mile 50, the individual who completes that lap in the fastest time is declared the winner.

Course and Amenities

The event takes place on a paved loop through the Oxbow Meadows area. This is a self-supported style race where the main aid station provides only water and electrolytes. Participants are responsible for bringing their own food, supplies, and support crews. Space is available for runners to set up private tents for their personal aid and equipment.
