#onemileatatime 12 Hour Challenge : June 20, 2026

This event is the sixth annual running of the #onemileatatime format, held at Oxbow Meadows in Columbus, GA. The format was adapted to a 12 hour event for 2026; the maximum possible distance is 50 miles for a competitor who completes every lap.

Participants run a paved loop of 1 mile. Each loop must be completed within a 15 minute interval. Runners may not begin the next loop until the 15 minute segment ends. The 15 minute interval remains in place for the first 10 hours, which corresponds to 40 miles. After that period the allowed lap time is reduced by one minute every other lap until the final lap. If multiple runners reach the final lap, the fastest final-lap time determines the winner.

Event support includes a main aid station providing only water and electrolytes. Runners may bring their own food, supplies, and crew, and may set up a personal tent for aid. Prize money for top male and female finishers is offered on a sliding scale based on total entrants: at 75 entrants the prize is $250 each, at 100 entrants $500 each, and at 125 entrants $1000 each. Registration closes on Wed, Jun 17 at 11:59 PM ET. The refund policy allows 100 percent refunds until three months before the race date; after that no refunds are issued.
