Not BUTTER

Not BUTTER is a multi-format running event held at Oxley Creek Common in Rocklea in late October 2026. The programme includes several timed endurance formats alongside a separate elimination contest called The Drop.

The course runs mostly along Oxley Creek on a smooth, compact surface with minimal elevation. The 24 hour, 12 hour and 6 hour events and the 5 km Drop use a 5 km out and back route. The 4 km and 3 km Drops run on a section of the same course.

Distances and formats:

  • 24 hour event
  • 12 hour event
  • 6 hour event
  • 5 km Drop
  • 4 km Drop
  • 3 km Drop

The Drop is an elimination-style format. On lap 1 all participants have 30 minutes to complete the lap, followed by a 5 minute recovery. Lap 2 allows 29 minutes, followed by a 6 minute recovery, and the pattern continues in the same manner. The last runner to complete each lap is eliminated. The first runner to finish the final lap is the winner. The organiser notes this elimination rule may be varied depending on attrition.

On-site facilities include electrolyte and race fuel supplied by AAA Racing courtesy of Hammer Nutrition, a memento for each participant, space for small tents and gazebos for crews, toilets, and food preparation facilities for participants and crew.
