Yarrabilba Trail Fest
Scheduled for 16 August 2026, the Yarrabilba Trail Fest takes place on a network of trails located between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. The event is based in the community of Yarrabilba, approximately 15 minutes from the M1 motorway. The courses traverse Plunkett Regional Park, Wickham National Park, and Wickham Timber Reserve, featuring open eucalypt forests, sandstone outcrops, and seasonal wildflower displays.
The event offers three distinct distances:
- 5.1 km (Short Course): A route including some hills, open to participants aged 6 and over.
- 11.4 km (Medium Course): A mid-distance run featuring the "on-edge ascent," open to those aged 13 and over.
- 18.2 km (Long Course): A technical route with flat sections, steep climbs, and sandstone slab terrain, open to participants aged 16 and over.
The race precinct is situated off Livingstone St in Yarrabilba. Mandatory gear for the Medium and Long courses includes a water bottle or hydration vest with at least 500mL capacity, as the event operates a cup-less policy at the on-course aid station and finish line. While the 5.1 km course does not have an aid station, carrying water is also recommended.
Participants must follow course markings consisting of pink and yellow tape and directional arrows. All children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult guardian entered in the same race. Parking is provided at South Rock State School on Grampians Circuit, and participants are required to collect their race numbers from the event precinct on the morning of the run.
